Come see Los Angeles session and touring guitarist John Depatie in Concert with special guest, legendary pianist, composer and arranger of “The Wrecking Crew,” Don Randi, who was instrumental in the creation of the Wall-of-Sound recording techniques with Phil Spector that became known as the LA Sound.

The Wrecking Crew played on thousands of recordings since the 60’s including, The Beach Boys, The Byrds, the list goes on and includes Frank, Frank JR.,and Nancy Sinatra. John DePatie was the featured guitarist and Don Randi was the pianist and musical Director for Nancy’s World Tour 2005. Since then, Don and John have worked together regularly live and in the studio. Don Randi is the owner of the world famous, Baked Potato, in Los Angeles where John performs regularly with Don Randi’s Quest. They have recorded two CDs together, Acoustimania and Good Jazzy Vibrations, a tribute to the Beach Boys.

John has put together an amazing evening of music – merging the 60’s California rock scene with jazz, rock and reggae influences with a touch of country to round it out. John and the band will perform songs from John’s upcoming CD as well as originals by Will Faerber, Don Randi and Jody Bagley. They will also perform some of your favorite songs from the Classic Rock songbook.

John DePatie

John is a regular session guitar player in the L.A. music scene. He is the featured guitar player at the Baked Potato, the Los Angles premier jazz night club. He has toured extensively in the US and will be touring in Europe prior to the Mission Theater show. John has recorded two albums with Don Randi, Acoustimania and Good Jazzy Vibration, a tribute to the Beach Boys.

Keyboard player and music arranger for the Wrecking Crew. The film about the Wrecking Crew astonished music lovers by revealing the influence they wielded over rock and pop music in the 1960s and early 1970s. These unsung instrumentalists were the de-facto backing band on hit records by The Beach Boys, The Byrds, Simon & Garfunkel, Phil Spector, Frank Sinatra, Nancy Sinatra, Sonny & Cher, Elvis, The Mamas & The Papas, Dean Martin, Glen Campbell, The Righteous Brothers, Nat “ King”Cole,Linda Ronstadt, Quincy Jones, Cannonball Adderley, Herb Alpert, Sarah Vaughn, Frank Zappa,The Monkees and many more. These dedicated musicians brought the flair and musicianship that made the American “West Coast Sound” a dominant cultural force around the world. Don played on over 300 hit singles from the 60’s and 70’s.

Don has recorded piano jazz under his own name and as the leader of a trio with Leroy Vinnegar and Mel Lewis.[2]These included Feelin’ Like Blues (1960), Where Do We Go From Here (1962), Last Night (1963), Revolver Jazz (1966), and Love Theme From “Romeo And Juliet” (1968).

Randi also wrote film scores during the 1970s, including Bloody Mama (1970), Up in the Cellar (1970), J. W. Coop (1972), Stacey(1973), and Santee (1973).

In 1970 he opened The Baked Potato jazz club in Studio City, California, and formed his own group, Don Randi and Quest, as the house band. The band have subsequently recorded over 15 albums and were nominated for a Grammy in 1980 for the album New Baby.

In 2010 The Baked Potato was named Best Jazz Club in Los Angeles magazine.

In 2008, as a member of the Wrecking Crew, Randi was inducted into the Hollywood RockWalk.

Don is has also been inducted into the Musicians Hall of Fame.

Will Faerber

Will Faerber can do it all and brings Vocals, Keyboards, Guitar, Harmonica to the show.

Aaron Bagley

Aaron Bagley on Bass and vocals, together with his brother Jody, are known for their incredible harmony skills and impeccable musicianship. Their band, J.B. and the movers is one of the hottest acts on the SoCal scene.
